Hi friends,
Our October wandering will take place Saturday, October 26th at 10am Arroyo Seco Trail in Pasadena, CA.
Trailhead Address: 221 San Pascual Ave. South Pasadena, 91030
Street parking is available on San Pascual and we’ll meet up near the Stables at 10:00am. To make things easier carpool if at all possible!
Details for the trail are available at: theoutbound.com/los-angeles/running/running-the-arroyo-seco-trail
This trail is in Pasadena, California and is part of traditional, sacred, and unceded land of the Tongva-Gabrieleño, Kizh, Fernandeño Tataviam, and other Indigenous peoples.
We wander in spaces with layered, complex histories that include abuse and exclusion. We try to be mindful and work towards understanding, renewed relationship & restitution. Learn more here.
The nature of our wanderings requires a level of ability that is not a reality for all. We walk as a community, conscious of varying ability and individual need. Regardless of your particular ability, who you are, who you love, your beliefs or understandings, we hope you will feel welcomed, affirmed, embraced, and heard if you wander with us.
Please send an RSVP to payton.hoegh@spiritualityinnature.org so we know who to expect!
Recommended gear: Comfortable shoes, Sun hat, Layers, Sun block, Water and Snacks
As always, here’s some of what we've been digging into these past few weeks that we hope will ground out walk and guide some of our conversation:
Essay - Oda a la Intesidad by Soledad Barruti - Wimblu Magazine (English & Spanish)
Poem - How to be a Poet by Wendell Berry - Poetry Foundation
Video - A woman finds calm by Tom Schroeder - Aeon Magazine
Hope to see you soon!
