Hi wanderers,
Our August contemplative hike will be an evening offering on Saturday, August 16th at 4pm at Point Vicente Beach Trail in Palos Verdes.
Trailhead Address: 31501 Palos Verdes Dr W, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275
Parking is relatively accessible around the Point Vicente Interpretive Center and we’ll meet up there at 4:00pm. To make things easier carpool if at all possible!
Details for the trail are available at: www.theoutbound.com/california/hiking/point-vicente-park
This trail is in Rancho Palos Verdes, and is part of traditional, sacred, and unceded land of the Tongva-Gabrieleño and other Indigenous peoples.
We wander in spaces with layered, complex histories that include abuse and exclusion. We try to be mindful and work towards understanding, renewed relationship & restitution. Learn more here.
The nature of our wanderings requires a level of ability that is not a reality for all. We walk as a community, conscious of varying ability and individual need. Regardless of your particular ability, who you are, who you love, your beliefs or understandings, we hope you will feel welcomed, affirmed, embraced, and heard if you wander with us.
Please send an RSVP to payton.hoegh@spiritualityinnature.org so we know who to expect!
Recommended gear: Comfortable shoes, Sun hat, Layers, Sun block, Water and Snacks
Here are some resources we’ve been digging into that might guide and shape our conversation:
Essay | My Heart Went Out by David James Duncan - The Sun
Poem | The Ocean Prays Through Me by Timothy R. Flynn - Alchemist Journal
Video | Meeting Kairos - Emergence Magazine Practices
Hope to see you on the trail!
